Reach Out and Ask →My Lane
Where I ship, and where I don't.
The way I ship fast, charge fairly, and stay reliable is by running a tight lane. Here's what I take on as standard, and what I usually leave to the tools and platforms built for it. Anything outside it, we can talk about.
What I Do
The public face of your organization
- • Custom website design & build (every pixel from scratch)
- • Private server hosting · DNS · SSL · daily + off-site backups
- • Ongoing content updates (hosting and care)
- • Integrations with your existing tools: embeds, link-outs, read-only API pulls, calendar sync, news feed imports
- • Public-facing inquiry and contact forms that route to you by email
- • SEO, analytics, and Open Graph / social previews
- • Payments, billing, and giving, wired through a secure processor so the money never touches my server
- • Projects that handle health, student, or card data, with those records kept by a certified provider I set up, never on my server
- • A developer you can actually call when you need a change
What I Usually Leave Alone
Unless we scope it together
- • Tax, utility, member and giving records (those stay in the software built for them)
- • Emergency alerts & life-safety notifications (dedicated vendors exist for a reason)
- • Replacing your core operational back-office software unless we specifically scope it and you want that
- • Anything that, if it went down for a weekend, would create a real crisis
If you want a beautiful, fast, custom site with a developer you can actually call, you're in the right place. If you need something bigger or a little unusual, tell me about it. Some of my favorite work started as a strange request, and if it isn't a fit, I'll happily point you toward someone who specializes in it.
The Difference
What you get when the builder picks up the phone.
Most web work gets passed around: a salesperson, a designer, a support queue. Here, one person does all of it, and stays.
One
One person, start to finish
The person who designs your site builds it, hosts it, and answers when you call. Nothing gets lost in a handoff.
Yours
Made for you, not a menu
Every site starts from a blank page. For a town, that means a drawing of the town itself.
Free
See it before you spend a dime
I build your homepage preview first, at no cost. You decide after you've seen it. Ask for yours.
The Stack
One private server. Twenty-plus live systems.
Every system counted below runs on the machine serving this page. One studio, one developer, a modern build pipeline, and infrastructure I tuned by hand. It's why custom work ships in days instead of quarters.
Your visitors
Every page arrives over HTTPS, with security headers that tell browsers what to refuse.
One private server
Your site, its pages and its forms run on a server I operate. No shared hosting, no page builder.
A copy kept off the server
Backups are encrypted before they leave, then stored somewhere else entirely.
And while it runs
Watched around the clock
Up or down, checked every minute. Certificate and domain, every 15 minutes.
Accessibility scan, monthly
On the first of each month, every site I look after is scanned against WCAG 2.1 AA.
20+
Production Systems
Live websites, portals, CRMs, and private tools, all running on the same server I use to ship your project.
30
Custom Databases
Isolated databases across the systems I've built and run, one per project. Client data is kept separate from every other client's, and I will export yours for you on request.
300K+
Lines of Code
Production code across this stack, real systems, not marketing pages.
Days
Studio Output
Modern toolchain, zero middle layers, and a developer who actually ships. Custom work lands in days, not quarters, with no committee and no overhead. You pay for output, not waiting.
Hosted on a private server in North America. No page builder, no plugin stack, and no middleman between you and the person who built your site.
Free Stack Audit · No sales call required
Send me your current web bills. I'll send back what you're overpaying for.
Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy, your township's current web vendor, Breeze, Planning Center, Tithe.ly, Mailchimp, whatever you're already paying for. I'll break down what's worth keeping (your records platform usually is), what you're overpaying for on the website side, and what a custom public site on my server would look like alongside the systems you keep. Usually within 2 business days. No pitch deck, no scheduling a call unless you want one.

The questions I get most.
How much does a custom website cost?
Every project is priced to its scope. Reach out and ask, and tell me what you need.
Do you build township and borough websites?
Yes, Pennsylvania townships and boroughs are a big part of my work right now. Every site is built from scratch with a drawing of your own town and the things residents look for: meeting agendas and minutes, the calendar, forms, notices, and who to call. A federal rule now requires local government websites to work for people with disabilities, so I build to WCAG 2.1 AA from the first page. I'll make a free homepage preview first, no cost and no obligation.
What is the free homepage preview?
Before you commit to anything, I build a homepage around you, so you can see what your site would look like with your own name, your own look and the things your visitors come for. For a town, that includes a drawing of your own town. There's no cost and no obligation. Pick “Free Homepage Preview” on the form below to ask for one.
Do you build church websites with management platforms?
Yes, with a clear boundary. Bright Presence Digital builds custom church websites: event calendars, prayer request forms, sermon and news feeds, and staff pages, hosted on a private server, with simple tools to update photos and contact details yourself. Member records, giving, and donations stay in the church management and giving platforms you already use; the site links into them cleanly and can show read-only summaries. Your platforms remain the system of record, and your giving platform keeps handling the money.
Can you replace our church's Breeze, Planning Center, or Tithe.ly subscriptions?
Usually the website subscription is the one worth replacing. Most churches pay for 3 to 5 separate tools that don't talk to each other; Bright Presence replaces the website builder with a custom site on a private server and links cleanly into the management and giving platforms you keep. Those platforms remain the system of record for members and donations, and your giving platform keeps handling the money. You get a direct line to the developer who built it: no support tickets.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes, the everyday things, like your menu, photos and contact details. Anything bigger, you send to me and I handle it.
Do you offer ongoing website support?
Yes. I look after the sites I build: updates, changes, backups, and monitoring. When you need something, you call me, not a support queue.
How is this different from a template subscription?
Template platforms like Squarespace charge you monthly to rent a generic design you never own. I build a fully custom website and look after it for you. If you leave, you keep a working copy of your site to host anywhere. You also get a direct line to the actual developer, not a support tier.
What areas do you serve?
I build for any kind of business, office, church, nonprofit or town, from a home base in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania townships and boroughs are a big focus right now. I work remote-first, with on-site visits when it matters, so the right project outside Pennsylvania is still worth a conversation.
Who owns the website and data after it's built?
You do. Your design, pages, content, data, and domain belong to you. If you ever leave, I hand you a working copy of your site to host anywhere. The live tools, like forms and your own updates, stay behind because they run on my server.
How is your hosting different from GoDaddy or Squarespace?
Your site runs on a private server I operate, not a shared hosting rack or a platform that puts its branding on your site, and you have direct access to the person who manages it.
Ready to make your mark?
I'm selective about the projects I take on because I genuinely care about the work. If your vision lines up with what I do best, you'll have my full attention. Tell me about yours, you'll hear back within 2 business days.

More on what I build
Bright Presence Digital is a custom web design and development studio for any kind of business, office, church, nonprofit or town. Every site is built from scratch: no cookie-cutter templates, no WordPress themes, no page builders. Whether you're a borough office in western Pennsylvania, a coffee shop on the South Side, a church in the suburbs, or an office downtown, you get a website that looks professional, loads fast, and is built to be found on Google.
Municipal & Government Website Design
Custom websites for Pennsylvania townships, boroughs, and local government offices: meeting agendas and minutes, calendars, forms, notices, and contact details residents can find on a phone, built to WCAG 2.1 AA, with a drawing of your own town and a free homepage preview to start. Municipal web design → · See the borough demo →
Coffee Shop & Small Business Website Design
Most small business websites are either embarrassingly outdated or built on a template platform that makes you look like every other shop on the block. I build custom sites designed to drive real results: phone calls, form submissions, walk-in traffic. That means click-to-call on mobile, a clean service layout that answers the customer's actual question, basic on-page SEO baked in from the start, and fast hosting that is watched around the clock. No page builders, and no template you rent forever, you own a fully custom site, with hosting and support priced to your scope. Small business web design →
Church Website Design
Most churches are paying for 3 to 5 separate subscriptions that don't talk to each other. Squarespace or Wix for the website, Tithe.ly or Breeze for giving, Planning Center for scheduling, Mailchimp for newsletters. Bright Presence Digital builds churches a custom public website that integrates cleanly with those tools, and if you want something more custom down the road, we can talk it through. I don't handle the money itself (your giving processor keeps doing that), but I build a beautiful, fast, private-server-hosted front door that ties everything together: event calendars synced from Planning Center or Google, staff and ministry pages, prayer request inbox, and news feed. Your data belongs to your congregation, and when you need help, you call the actual developer who built it, not a chatbot. See the full church website →
Nonprofit Website Design
Nonprofits operate on tight budgets, and Bright Presence scopes pricing to match. From clean informational websites to event calendars and member tools, every project is sized to fit your organization's mission and reality. No cookie-cutter templates, and you own your site and content, with hosting and the live tools that run it priced to your scope. Learn more about nonprofit & church web design →
Managed Website Services
Hosting and care is built for organizations that don't want to worry about their website. It covers the full custom build, hosting, ongoing content updates, and priority support whenever you need changes. For a township or borough, it includes the website plus the agendas, minutes, calendar, and forms. For churches, it includes the website, event calendars, prayer and news tools, and clean link-outs to the management and giving platforms you already use. Those platforms remain the system of record for members and giving. It's a dedicated, personal service relationship, not a template subscription. And if you ever cancel, you keep a working copy of your site to host anywhere.
Private Server Hosting
Bright Presence Digital offers private server hosting with pricing quoted to your footprint and support needs. Your website lives on private infrastructure run hands-on by your developer, not a shared hosting rack, not a platform that plasters their branding on your site. Hosting and care includes SSL, uptime monitoring, automated daily and off-site backups, and real human support. For townships, churches, and nonprofits, this means your site and the messages people send through it live on a private server, not on someone else's shared cloud.
Backend Development & Custom Systems
Bright Presence goes beyond the front page when you want it to. Custom client portals, scoped API integrations, and automated workflows that help organizations run more efficiently, without replacing your core operational systems unless you specifically want that. Appointment request forms that hand off cleanly to your practice's own software, citizen request portals for municipal governments, light CRM tooling for sales teams, the kind of tools that sit around your existing stack, not on top of it.
