What Lancaster private and parochial schools are up against
Lancaster is two places sharing a name. There is a walkable small city that has become a genuine destination, and there are the surrounding townships of farms and Plain communities. The city itself resettles refugees at a rate far above its size, so the population is far more international than the postcard suggests.
Lancaster holds an unusual mix: long established church affiliated schools, families from Plain communities with their own expectations of schooling, and a resettled international population choosing a school for the first time in a new country. One website is speaking to all three.
Enrollment is decided by families who will never call to ask a question they could not find an answer to. The site is where most of that deciding happens.
A site that earns the minute it gets
Admissions season, answered
Tuition, aid, application deadlines and what a tour actually involves, in the place parents look first rather than buried in a PDF.
Written for a parent, not a board
Plain answers to the questions families actually ask, without the language schools use with each other.
Mobile first, genuinely
Because a parent comparing schools is doing it from a phone, usually at night, usually with a tab open on your competitor.
Editable by your office
News, calendar and closings updated by whoever is in the office that morning, without a developer.
I work with organizations across Pennsylvania and the rest of the country from a studio just outside Pittsburgh. Being reachable has never been the hard part, and that is the part I take most seriously.
Working with one person, from Pittsburgh
You are hiring one person, not an agency. I am Scott Rocca, I work out of Bridgeville just outside Pittsburgh, and I do the design, the build, the hosting and the support call myself. Nothing gets handed to a junior and nothing gets outsourced. That is the tradeoff: you will not get a 20 person team, and you will never be handed to someone who does not know your project.
Most builds run three to six weeks depending on how much content is ready. Sites are built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA at delivery and hosted on a private server I administer, not a page builder you rent by the month. You get a straightforward one time build price plus a flat monthly for hosting, updates and support, and I quote it before you commit to anything. If a cheaper option genuinely fits you better, I will say so.
